Norman is a husband, father, tireless volunteer and lawyer. He is married to Angela, also a lawyer, and they have a 14-year-old daughter. In his role as lawyer, Norman practices mainly in the areas of Civil Litigation and Aboriginal Law with the firm Booth Dennehy LLP, of which he is a managing Partner.

Originally from Montreal, Norman first came to know and enjoy Winnipeg through participation in the Canda World Youth Program and the adventure in Manitoba and the Phillipines that it gave him. He returned to Winnipeg to obtain his Bachelor of Education at the College Saint Boniface and then taught French immersion in Winnipeg prior to pursuing his legal education. Further to graduating from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Common Law (French Program), completing his articles in Ottawa and passing both the Bars of Ontario and Manitoba in 1996, Norman returned to Manitoba. Here, he has had the privilege of practicing law in both languages for the past 13 years.

Aside from the practice of law, Norman devotes a significant amount of his time to children's rights advocacy and other community based activities. Norman is highly involved in Beyond Borders Inc., a national organization comprised exclusively of volunteers that work to raise awareness of, and advance the rights of children to gain freedom from, sexual exploitation on a national and global scale. As Vice-President of Beyond Borders, Norman serves many functions in his role as advocate. Notably, in both 2003 and 2005 he presented both oral and written submissions to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights on legislative matters pertaining to child sexual explotation.

In addition to his volunteer advocacy work, Norman acts in a decision-making capacity as a member of the hearing panel roster under the Vulnerable Persons Living With a Mental Disability Act. Norman is presently the President of the Franco Manitoban Business Association. Norman is also the Vice-President of the Community Legal Education Association. The Community Legal Education Association is a not-for-profit organization that provides public legal education and information programs to Manitobans. The Association believes that legal knowledge is a prerequisite to full and equal participation in our society.

In recent years, he has served as the Treasurer and Vice-President of the Association des Juristes d'Expression Française du Manitoba. He has also served as both Vice-President and President of Robert H. Smith Child Care Inc.

Norman enjoys moksha yoga and practices it regularly.
